Mothers today have a choice, assuming finances allow. You can choose to stay at home and focus on raising your children or you can choose to have a career as well. Stay-at-home Moms have a full time job in and of itself. Being a strong, confident woman doesn’t just mean working your butt off to get a good career. It means making the choice for yourself and being the woman you want to be – working mother, stay-at-home mother or making the choice to not become a mother at all.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I’ve compiled a list of the sexiest mothers in Hollywood – the women who show us that being a mother can be sexy. I find the term MILF a tad overused but in the case of these women, it’s definitely fitting. Whether continuing their career or taking time off to raise their children, these woman have all shown that being a mother doesn’t mean you have to give up being sexy. Let’s take a look at the twenty sexiest mothers in Hollywood (in no particular order).

Kate had her first child, son Ryder (shown above) in 2004 with now ex-husband Chris Robinson (of The Black Crowes) Although the two divorced, they remained close for the sake of their son. Kate announced in January of this year that she is pregnant with her second child (with Matt Bellamy of Muse).

You may know Kate from her role as Penny Lane in Almost Famous or her more recent work in romantic comedies like How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days, You, Me and Dupree, Fool’s Gold, or Bride Wars. Kate is most appealing to me because she does her own thing. She is who she is and that is sexy.

Brooke had her first child, daughter Neriah, in 2000 with Garth Fisher. The couple married in 2001 and had their second child, daughter Sierra Sky, in 2002. After the couple divorced in 2005, Brooke announced her engagement to actor David Charvet. They had their first child, daughter Heaven Rain, in 2007 and their son, Shaya Braven, a year later in 2008.

You may also know Brooke from her two Playboy pictorials (in 2001 and 2004), both of which were shot after her first child was born. You probably know Denise from her roles in Starship Troopers, Wild Things, The World Is Not Enough, Drop Dead Gorgeous and Scary Movie 3. You may also know her from her E! reality show, Denise Richards: Its Complicated. More than likely, though, you know her as Charlie Sheen’s long suffering ex-wife whom he had a very public and very messy custody battle with. Today, Denise focuses more on raising her children and making sure she does everything she can to protect them from the media circus surrounding their father.

I think that’s incredibly important and pretty rare in Hollywood.

After marrying Bush rocker, Gavin Rossdale in 2002, Gwen gave birth to the couple’s first son, Kingston James McGregor Rossdale in May of 2006. Two years later, in August of 2008, she gave birth to their second son, Zuma Nesta Rock Rossdale.

Gwen Stefani is the style icon of her generation. She is a woman that isn’t afraid to take chances and isn’t afraid to admit that she’s vain. Gwen is proof positive that being a mother does not mean you can’t be stylish. When women become mothers, they often lose who they are as a person and Gwen seems determined not to let that happen. That’s important. The kids won’t stay little forever. Eventually they will grow up and leave the home. It will be a hard day, but if you hold on to who you are as a person and not just as a Mom, that empty next will feel a little less lonely.

Heidi gave birth to her first child, daughter Helene Boshoven “Leni” Klum in May of 2004. Although she was dating musician Seal at the time, they had only started dating after Heidi got pregnant with another man’s child (Flavio Briatore). Seal was there for Leni’s birth and adopted her in December of 2009, four years after he and Heidi were married. Seal and Heidi have three biological children together; son Henry Gunther Ademola Dashtu (born in September of 2005), son Johan Riley Fyodor Taiwo (born in November of 2006), and daughter Lou Sulola (born in October of 2009).

You know Heidi as the quintessential Victoria’s Secretangel. Although she’s now retired and is focused on other pursuits, a woman this strong won’t soon disappear. I would say that her marriage to husband, Seal, seems to be one of the most stable, loving marriages in Hollywood.

What kind of list would this be without Gisele? Sure the beginning of her relationship with now husband, Tom, wasn’t really the most honorable, but things seem to have worked out nicely. She fills the role of step-mother and mother without having lost that spark that made her such a unique person to begin with. Gisele seems to have this weird wide-eyed innocence and vulnerability that makes her even more attractive. Jumping back into work after having a baby couldn’t have been easy, but Gisele seems to have found a beautiful balance between mother and model.

After denying she was pregnant for quite some time, Jennifer finally confirmed her pregnancy (also known as one of the world’s worst kept secrets) in November of 2007. She gave birth to fraternal twins, Emme Maribel Muñiz, and Maximilian ‘Max’ David Muñiz in February of 2008.

Jennifer Lopez: The MILF
Motherhood changes women. Suddenly things that once seemed important take a backseat and Jennifer Lopez is no exception. Gone is the diva J-lo. As her role as judge on American Idol, we see a softer side of Jennifer and it’s a welcome chance. After taking a bit of time off after giving birth to her kids, Jennifer is now playing the role of working mother and she seems to be pulling it off beautifully.

Tina and her husband (composed Jeff Richmond) welcomed their first child, daughter Alice Zenobia Richmond in September of 2005. In April of this year, Tina announced that she was five months pregnant with her second child.

What I like about Miranda is that she doesn’t back away from her new role as mother. What isn’t sexy about Jessica Alba. I’m not even sure what more I have to say here. The woman is sexy but not completely over the top with it. There’s an almost wholesomeness is her sex appeal. Although her mouth sometimes gets her in trouble, that’s one of the greatest things about her. She isn’t afraid to speak her mind. Confidence and strength are incredibly sexy characteristics for a woman to have.

In March of 2002, Angelina adopted her from child, son Maddox Chivan, from Cambodia. In July of 2005, Angelina expanded her brood, adopting daughter Zahara Marley from Ethiopia. She gave birth to her first biological child with boyfriend, daughter Shiloh Nouvel, in May of 2006. In March of 2007, the fourth child joined the now Jolie-Pitt clan when son Pax Thien was adopted from Vietnam. In July of 2008, Jolie gave birth to fraternal twins son Knox Léon and daughter Vivienne Marcheline.

Angelina is the ultimate MILF. I’m a straight female, and I want to ‘f’ her. With her roles in Tomb Raider,Wanted and Salt, Angelina has proven that yes – women can kick just as much ass as men. On the other hand, her roles in movies like Changeling, A Mighty Heart, and The Good Shepherd have also shown the more sensitive side of femininity. She is a tough woman that also oozes sensuality. Her role as mother to six kids and her role in shedding light on humanitarian causes around the world only serves as further evidence that women can play a lot of roles – strong, confident, brave, insecure, sexual, modest – and can do anything they put their minds to.
